Confirmation

September through May

Class will begin on Wednesday, September 9, 2009, with an orientation meeting for the parents and students in grades 5-9.

Students in 5th grade have one Saturday morning block class on the Ten Commandments.

Students in 6th grade have three Saturday morning block classes on Baptism, Holy Communion and the Lord's Prayer.

The 7th and 8th grade students meet on Wednesday evenings from 7:00-8:15pm. One year we will cover the Catechism and the other we will teach a Bible survey class.

Students in 9th grade have three scheduled block Sunday classes, participate in five servant projects (2 hours each) outside of St. John's ministry and complete a Faith Project or Statement prior to Confirmation Sunday. Confirmation Sunday is always the first Sunday in May. This year it will be May 2, 2010.

We have about 60 students in our 2009-2010 program. Our Pastor and 4 small group leaders lead us in the Bible/theological presentations. Our program is based on "Here We Stand" through the ELCA. More specific information can be obtained via our brochure or by calling 826-7785.
